the visit

We went down to Cornwall earlier in the month and here is a little of what we got up to.
It was fabulous weather for Autumn - blue skies and balmy days...

... a mix of napping and play for Bingley and Darcy.

When the window steamed up, Mr Haven said "lets each draw a cat'"..

This was his effort... (looks more like a chimp?)

... and this one is mine (electric shock kitty)

We visited Fowey and basked on the veranda of the Fowey Hotel

.. gazed at the view..

.. admired the local knockers ..!

... indulged ...

.. fantasied about living by Readymoney Bay..

.. watched the boats.... and the sea ..

.. and, most important of all, visited Auntie.
(some of you know that she is in a dementia unit, which is the main reason for going down to Cornwall.
She is still going strong, but has begun repetitive movements, in this instance, the art of blanket folding.
Dear Aunt)

ALERT: we had all the oil stolen from the Cornish house (near Liskeard) while down there, so if you run on oil... it might be an idea to check on your security.

  1. You two always take such lovely trips. Purrs to your aunt and your family...We hope that she's in a happy place in her own mind.

We're sorry about the oil theft, though!

  2. What a lovely series of pictures. The electric shock kitty was interesting to mom and I as a possibility to draw on our window panes when it the windows are steamed up! We like that!

Cornwall is lovely. There is someone from Cornwall as a Contact that I see fairly often on my Flickr Photostream. Gorgeous scenery.

I hope your Aunt was doing well and enjoyed your visit. Once Mom saw the ice cream cone her eyes glazed over she is a ice cream freak.

  10. What nice photos! I think Mr. Haven's drawing looks like our former president, though. Must be the ears. ;-)

What a shame about your oil. I would hope it was someone who really needed it instead of some mean person, but, you know, it was probably a mean person.

  13. You two look so cosy in your little curtained hideaway! What a shame about the oil - I'd heard about this happening in rural areas. Looks like you had a good time whilst visiting your much loved auntie:)

  15. Greetings to you Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley! Thank you for visiting our blog, we are delighted to make your acquaintance. Our Mum says you two are "beautiful" but we think you both are very handsome and dapper. The Cornwall visit looks fabulous... our Mum has only been to London on your island, although many of her favorite authors like Ms. Austen, the Bronte sisters and Gaskell have taken her all over it!

  18. Oh how lovely it all looks down in Cornwall, how do Darcy and Bingley get on with going on holiday? I'd like to book a cottage somewhere and take the kitties (hence the leash training) but I'm not sure what they'll make of a strange place, they have only ever lived with the breeder and then us!
P.s. i checked out your crafting post, looking forward to seeing the results! :)

  19. What sort of tortoise are you looking to adopt? Our two female land tortoises have been with us for more than 10 years. They have such funny personalities. :)
