one of those moments
“No matter how long the Winter, Spring is sure to follow”
Here I am, watching out for Spring..
I know it is impawtant to keep close to the earth and to be vigilant...
There is also something to be said for licking local grasses to assess how close Spring actually is..?
... select with care ...
.. like a fine wine... savour...
.. right to the end, l
ife is a succession of moments, and this is all mine!
Spring isn't here yet, but I can smell it's on it's way!

We wish all our dear blogging friends a special and most joyful day today.
We were born on Valentines Day (we are 3) and it is not only our duty but our
to share with
lots of extra PURRS on this day, however you spend it.

The Sue Ryder Hospice in Nettlebed holds a monthly sale in the grounds of its mansion.
We always try to go because there are so many lovely bargains to be had, not to mention the good cause!
Usually we stop off at the
Field Kitchen cafe
for coffee first.
They do wonderful breakfasts and cakes and run a Deli.
It was bitterly cold at the sale, but it meant fewer people braved the weather and it was easier to see the lovely things on show. I bought books (4 for £2), some china and ....
Linen basket in a gorgeous green for £6.00.

On the bottom it had a date stamp of 5th July 1954.
Its quite rare to find a piece like this which hasn't been painted over with gloss.
It snowed again last night, but in the morning the sun was out and the whole place sparkled.

"The trouble with weather forecasting is that it's right too often for us to ignore it and wrong too often for us to rely on it"
~ Patrick Young
One minute we were enjoying the daffodils and counting our blessings for a bright and mild Winter...
... and then THIS happened!
... can you spot Mr Bingley ...
.. and here is Mr Darcy venturing forth..!
... arctic cat ..
.. but then returned (with snow clods in his paw pads)...
... inside watching from the window ...
.. and that is enough snow for today...

We have all been down to Cornwall to visit Aunt.
While down there it was the weekend of the RSPB Garden Bird Count!
We assisted Mrs H in taking part...
We counted for one whole hour!
Birdie spotting for a purpose! Bliss.

This is us part way into the count.
Admittedly, we were occasionally distracted by our edible cat grass
(Mrs H is growing it for us so we have something to chew inside)
able to hold back.....
The birdie count wore us out!
But we are special cats and can dream
and count at the same time!
Blackbirds x 2 (female/male)
Black Cap x 1
Hedge Sparrow x 4
Coal Tit x 2
Finch x 1
Wren x 1
If you took part, do let us know what you spotted!
