Thursday in the Garden ~ Birman Patrol Squad
A sign of a good patrol cat is a willingness to:
1. expose himself to personal danger
2. storm enemy positions and engage in paw to paw combat, if required
3. evidence his strong sense of smell
4. never tire of the patrol
5. attempt to go where no cat has gone before

This is a beautiful watercolour painting of US!
Roger Bedding painted it and it is life size. Mrs H is thrilled. Naturally we are too, having always wanted to be chosen as 'Muses'.

What's in a name?
Valentines Day came, and a little miracle birth took place, ME!
I was named Mr Bingley (a romantic hero)
I have gone on to fully embrace my birth name.
But it doesn't end here, I have inexplicably come to be referred to in other ways!...
- 'Bing' is one ...(I can live with this)
- 'Bing-a-ling' ...(tends to be sung out in the early morning by Mrs H)
- and then 'Bing Bong' (this is also usually shouted out gleefully in the morning but this time by Mr H - it is like he is about to announce something in a supermarket)
- And, when Mrs H has to chase me around the garden in her high heels before work (when my outdoor allowance is up) she shouts at me... 'Tinker'...!
- But, to top it all, recently I found myself at the V-E-T-S. The woman in a white coat squeezed me with her fingers all over, I found I quite enjoyed this UNTIL I heard her suddenly say 'Puddin'! I looked up and found everyone looking at ME (3 of them). I heard 'puddin' referred to a further 3 times, with suppressed giggles.
Once home, I immediately slunk into the lounge to 'lounge' and ponder further my names.
'Puddin'... indeed! What is in YOUR name??

Today is Special because the bluebells are out
I was driving towards Marlow on a familiar route and then found myself gasping as I saw a mass of blue in the woods that are normally brown. It really was a carpet. I couldn't see where it ended.
In true Wm. Henry Davies style, based on his poem "Leisure", I stood and stared...
"... What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare..."

Thursday in the garden ~ blossoming together
Bing
This is me in the apple tree amongst the Spring blossoms.
I am proud to be broadcasting to you all from upon high!
... thought I would do a little flexing to show off my marvelous agility
(Mrs H and Darcy below, were naturally marvelling too - I even marvel at myself)
Mrs H asked me to guide you around our garden to check out the other blossom and Spring colour (this is a partial follow-up to the wonderful post by Alfie Marshall and his pack last Thursday, only Mrs H hasn't yet had the chance to walk 'around the block' beyond our garden with her camera - but will)
Cherry tree blossom
... a multi-tude (this is a special Haven term used when unable to name everything!)
Darcy is NO help with garden tours whatsoever and shouldn't even feature in this post (but he insisted)!
... this is one of my favourite spots ...
... birdie bath planting ...
... every garden should have a water feature, doing garden tours is afterall thirsty work...
... eh? still here?.. I am afraid this tour is now OVER.
I have to get on with my other garden duties
- birdie snoopervising!
Goodbye, and see you next time!
