Smart boy Bingley! The birdies might get confused and fly into your mouth instead of the birdie house!

Not to worry, I have a bird box on a pole leaning against my front porch. It fell over during the colder months and I have to reset it.

Bingley, you are one smart dude! Too bad the house is moving...
Funny thing, I was just visiting our local general birdstore... and they had a book for sale called Birdwatching for Cats, by Kit and George Harrison. My quick browse through it looked like they created birdie places that cats could see but not reach.....so that the cats were entertained and the birds were safe.
