rich pickings gone wrong

Mr Postman came on Saturday.
Bingley

Mrs H shared with me what she opened because I was disturbed by much hilarity on the part of Mr and Mrs H (I took interest but you can see Darcy didn’t – administration bores him).
The little spare cash the Havens have they try to make work for them us (to ensure a plentiful bounty of treats).
Yes, the financial markets are unpredictable!
Yes, they are constantly in a state of uncertainty and flux, going up as much as down!
... but look closely at this dividend! See, it is for...... drum roll.... 1 pence, YES, you read that correctly, 1 PENCE to share between us (not even one single tiny pathetic tuna treats worth)
Bingley

People say ‘money can't buy you happiness’ ... JUST AS WELL! And we ARE happy, and wish you all happiness too.
Bingley

Note: I bit the dividend - if you can't Bank it.. chew it!
(Darcy has finished yawning and is now bum licking - about sums this debacle  up!)

  3. By golly. The postage, paper ad printing would have cost more than the dividend. Silly indeed. Go ahead and CHEW, Bingley!

Mummy's flu is finally going away and we hope she'll be able to update our blog tomorrow...

  5. LOL! This is too funny! I thought the checks we got for .50 were bad. I think I'll take your advice next time and give it a good chew. :) (Actually, we still deposit it even though it's shamefully small.)

  6. Ha Ha! Hope there will be a few treats for the "boys" this weekend. xx

  7. Ha! You know it cost the company FAR more just to issue that cheque. Of course they had to, to balance their books and all, but how ridiculous. Seriously.

The mom got a refund for something work related once, and it was about $1 or so -- she never did send it down to Financial Services for deposit. Too absurd to waste time on!

  8. Good approach. Financial institutions have the unfortunate habit of thinking they're cleverer than the rest of us.

Sei-Chan says thank you for the kind words.

  9. Mmmmm.... I love chewing on paper! Something institutional like that silly paper suddenly becomes something personal. Nothing says "homemade" like a couple of tooth marks.

  10. MOL Darcy and Bingley
We apologize if you receive this twice....
You two might have to find jobs to supplement the peeps income...or at least that is what Mom says to me sometimes.
    Hugs Madi

  11. We never pay attention to the humans mail. If it doesn't have something for us in it why bother. Their papers are most confusing anyway.

  12. The only thing that check is good for is chewing!! So chew away, Bingley!!

  13. "bum licking" and "banks" in the same sentence...!!

  14. There are days when I wonder what the world is coming to! I heard of someone who kept receiving a bill for $0.00, and couldn't make it stop till sending a check for $0.00...

  15. I LAUGHED because mom finally got overturned.! That is THE singlemost worst "dividend" in history I fink. Mom gets aggtavated when she gets an interest rate of .50% on her CD's and IRA's. But 1 PENCE! OMC!

  16. Why didn't the bank pay in treats (oh right mum) by half a treat?
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

  17. Chew it, Bingley! The craziest part of all is that the bank spent more on the postage to send you the dividend statement! MOL

  18. Yup, all the rich people are stealing away and everyone else has to suffer. Lick your bum for us too, darling Bingley!

  19. Ridiculous...it cost a lot more than that to generate the paper work and post the letter to you - LOL!!!

  20. Love it! Hilarious. How much was the postage, I wonder? Take care, Sue x
