birdie patrol

At this time of year we like to assist Mrs H with birdie patrol and support duties (her words not ours).
But sometimes we get the sense that she would rather we occupy ourselves doing something else.

We go ahead and assist anyway!

Bingley
... here I am... what needs doing?

a spot of birdie food tasting?

... checking on the nesting furs (yes its ours)

Darcy
Personally, I like to take on the job of sorting through the seeds..

... but sometimes I get distracted - now let me see what the flies are up to in the greenhouse ..

Bingley
Now all the birdie food is in place... I STALK ...

sit, stare.. and wait

.. and perhaps doze a little (relax is my middle name)

Darcy
I watch and wait too...

AND if YOU were a birdie this is what YOU would see...
Note:  in 3 years: birdie catches = Nil

  4. Hi Bingley and Darcy and Mom!!

OMC you two are doing an absolutely
cat-a-tastic job of snoopervising. What would your Mum do w/o your help. How very nice of you to share your furs with the birdies. I asked Mom to check into one of those thingies hanging from your tree.

Have a most wonderful weekend full of naps in sun puddles and lots of good kibble
    Hugs from your BFF

  5. It's lovely to see you both out and about, protecting your garden. Those birds would run amok if you weren't on patrol. :-)

  6. Loved the photos especially the seed sorter. So cute. There is nothing cuter than the south-end of a north-bound cat.

  7. Oh BOYS! I am dazzled and charmed by your Birman handsomeness. My mommy said she remembers you last year when she and the Admiral visited you and found you were running thru your lawn. Your momma got my momma's most favorite picture in the world..a back view of that gorgeous Birman rump and back feet, running like the wind.

  10. Thanks for your kind comment on my blog. Love the photos! Unfortunately, two of our boy cats are too good at hunting - we had a headless bird on the doorstep the other day! I know it's only their nature but I do wish they would leave the poor birds alone.

  12. There is always another bird...to catch...or to miss, and look gorgeous while doing so!
Around here moths are the favorite things to hunt.

  13. Whatever would we do without kitty helpers?!? I like your nesting fur holder, did you buy it online? With five cats here we can supply a lot of fur for our birdies :-)

  14. You don't want TOO many birdies around, they poop on everything! No litter box for them. Your mom should be thanking you for making sure things stay clean. Those are some gorgeous tails you both have!

  15. a tad unfair to publish the lack of birdie prowess to all and sundry?
How's a chap s'posed to recover from a reputation like that?
All I can say is...Watch out mice!!

  24. Aww so cute! I love the puss pictures they make me smile.Marmalade was a very good mouser when younger but I only ever remembering her catching one bird, I was watering the garden with the hosepipe at the time and saw her with the bird in her mouth so instantly turned the hose on her.She was so shocked she opened her mouth and let it go!!
